The second anniversary of Merseyside Truth's first ever meet up was duly celebrated this year by welcoming Chris Coverdale to Merseyside in his first ever talk for us. He was joined also by Annie Machon who gave a introductory talk upon his arrival.
Following years of dedicated research, Chris finally succeeded in opening a legal case in early 2008 against the Blair Government under the International Criminal Court Act 2001, which came into effect under English common law just two days before 9/11.
His journey has been hard fought and the video of his talk can found by clicking on the event poster above.
In July '07 Merseyside Truth gathered together over 300 members of the public across two public events to bring the words and knowledge of William Rodriguez, the last man out of the Twin Towers on September 11th 2001, to the eyes and minds of Merseyside people.
The events were a resounding success with praise and audience participation at all levels.
William was ecstatic at the response, which culminated in an evening documentary interview at The Casa on Hope Street for both William and Merseyside Truth for a production company focusing on the issues involved in the real story of the Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008 award, an award which we shared with Stavanger in Norway, a little known but publicised fact...
William Rodriguez worked at the
WTC for some 20 years as a janitor, and his duties in cleaning the stairwells to
the 110 story bulidings meant that he knew the building literally
from top to bottom.
His expert eyewitness testimonies included the shocking revalation that there were explosions in the basement area of the North Tower before the first plane hit a 08:46 local time.
He said that the explosion was so powerful that it "literally blew us upward".
